New ultra-light MSP sealant: Merbenit E20

Samaro and Merz + Benteli (European leader in MS-Polymers technology products), innovate again by launching a new MSP sealant with excellent thermal characteristics and lightness. Very flexible and resilient, it can be used as a gasket compression or as an adhesive.

The Merbenit E20 is a light-weigth sealant, with a 50% lighter density (0.7 kg/L, where the other conventional MSP sealants have a density of 1.4 or 1.5 kg/L) and a low thermal conductivity, making it an excellent thermal insulator.

Moreover, its sound insulation properties and its ability to absorb vibrations make this product ideal for applications in automotive industry (NVH – noise, vibration and harshness).

Finally, Merbenit E20 is fire resistant – classified B2 according to DIN4102-1. All these properties make it an interesting product for the construction markets, and transportation industry (automotive, railway, aviation …).

Possible applications:
• Amortization of noise and vibration
• Sealing
• Thermal insulation
• Gain of weight

Properties:
• Tooling time: 35 minutes
• Tensile strength: 1.5 MPa
• Elongation at break: 120%
• Shore A Hardness: 36
• Density: 0.7 kg/L
• Thermal resistance: -40 / + 80 ° C
• Can be used without primer on metal, glass, concrete and most plastics (a primer is needed on low-surface-energy polymers – polyethylene, polypropylene…)
• Available in 600ml sausages
