Butyls

Technology :
LJF (Le Joint Français) Totalseal butyl or polyisobutylene sealants and damping compounds are non-reactive and free of solvents.
They come in cartridges, loaves or drums and are applied hot (100-180°C [212-356°F] with guns or special dispensing equipment.
They also come in pre-extruded form, allowing them to be applied like conventional adhesive strips. They are available in several sizes.

Fields of application:
Butyl sealants are designed primarily for sealing and vibration damping purposes. Butyl sealants are elastomers with the highest gas and water-vapor impermeability. They are also used for jigging so that parts can be handled while the structural sealant cures. They are also highly useful for temporary bonds or bonds that will subsequently be dismantled.
